Bee’s Knees Recipe
Bee's Knees is a classic cocktail and a variation of a gin sour. Instead of simple syrup, a Bee's Knees contains honey water which gives the drink a different character.
Ingredients
- 50 ml Gin
- 30 ml Lemon juice
- 20 ml Honey
Instructions
- Start by diluting the honey so that it can mix more easily with the other ingredients. Heat 2 parts honey together with 1 part water while stirring and allow to cool.
- Pour 2 cl honey water, 5 cl gin and 3 cl lemon juice into a shaker.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake until cold.
- Strain into a glass and garnish.

How do you create a garnish like that?

Hi Linn! Thank you very much for your question, which I fortunately happen to know the answer to! To get a slice of lemon, cut a slice of a lemon. To then get a dried lemon slice, let the lemon slice dry. To finally garnish the drink, place the dried lemon slice in the drink.
Hi Linn,
Just as Kajsa says, it’s about drying lemon slices. The easiest way to do this is in the oven at low temperature for a few hours. Then you have ready-made dried lemon slices that you can use to garnish your drinks.
All the best,
Fredrik
No drink for those who do not like the taste of gin! It was sweet, sour and fresh, which is completely to my taste! Could probably have been nicer with a splash of tonic in for more bitterness and it will be tested next time!
